At the beginning of September, we visited a beef farmer near Abtsgmünd, half an hour behind Schwäbisch Gmünd. In the nature reserve there, the Schlierbach valley, he has his Black Angus beef herds.
Outdoors all year, only grass and the water from the Schlierbach as food, no fattening feeding. In the pasture, we encountered strong-muscled, trusting cattle with shiny black coats.
This convinced us.
